As the current year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to ask the community to reach out in an email or in person to thank the teachers, support staff and every member of the district for their dedication to the students. The work they do each and every day has a positive impact on student lives that is lasting and meaningful; many of the students themselves won't realize this until long after they've left our halls. I am proud of the work done by the faculty and the care and kindness it is grounded in and I ask you to join me in expressing gratitude to them for taking such good care of our students.
As we turn to the new year and planning for 2020-21, I will again be sending out a series of communications to the community. The first will outline the district’s accomplishment over the past year, the second will focus on current fiscal pressures as we enter budget season, and the third will outline district goals and how we intend to use next year’s budget to achieve them. I apologize ahead of time as some may be lengthy, but they are important as they will provide context to our work and the budget we are developing to support it.
My best wishes to you as we enter the holiday season and the new year.
