Meet Our New Music Teacher, Kathy Hollander

Kathy Hollander
Mrs. Hollander is very excited to be joining the OSSD community. A native of Dover, New Hampshire, Kathy grew up in South Berwick, Maine. After graduating from Marshwood High School in 2005 she went on to study music education at Castleton State College in Castleton, Vermont. In 2009 she earned her Bachelor’s Degree and became certified to teach music in grades K-12.

Kathy first started teaching music in 2010 in Island Pond and Holland, VT. In 2013 she moved back to South Berwick, Maine and that summer, married her husband Daniel. In 2014 Kathy served as the interim music teacher at the Horace Mitchell School in Kittery, Maine. In 2015, Kathy and her husband moved to Central Maine, where she has been teaching for the past three years.

In August of 2017, Kathy and Daniel became parents to a beautiful baby girl named Ava Rose. By the end of the 2017-2018 school year, Kathy and Daniel decided to move back to Vermont to be closer to family.

In her spare time Kathy enjoys game nights and movie nights with friends and family. She loves food, and enjoys cooking. She is a New England sports fan all around, and absolutely loves Harry Potter. Her favorite colors are blue and green. Kathy is an animal lover, and has three cats. And of course, Kathy loves music, and enjoys many different styles.

We are pleased to welcome Kathy to our elementary school community!
