From the Principals
It was an interesting week with our snowy days. Thank you to our students, staff and parents for your flexibility on with the lack of power Tuesday morning and the delay on Wednesday. It is always a tough call on our Superintendent's part when it comes to cancelling or delaying school. We do appreciate the way that everyone pitched in to make these days as smooth as possible.
The students had a fun day Friday with the St. Patrick's Day festivities. There were some naughty leprechauns that caused trouble in the kindergarten-second grade classrooms. Despite many leprechaun traps being set, there was no luck this year in catching one! Check out some of our students' traps below.
Please take a few minutes to drop into the chandler over the next month to enjoy the artwork of our RES students. If you pop in on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 there will be refreshments available from our PTO parents.
In the meantime, keep up to date with what's happening here at RES in our Weekly Newsletter
Yours Warmly,
Melinda Robinson and Cara Houston

The PTO is also sponsoring a scavenger hunt with a prize drawing from the scavenger hunt sheets completed and turned in. We hope to see you at the Gallery soon!
About US
Randolph Elementary is located in the heart of central Vermont. We serve approximately 325 students in grades Pre-K-6. Our students reside in East Randolph, North Randolph, South Randolph, Randolph Center and the village of Randolph. Our district public preschool programs are located at Randolph and Braintree Elementary Schools.
All of our schools have a warm and caring faculty and staff committed to each and every child. Together, our priority is to create a rich and engaging learning environment, where students are authentic contributors and partners in a positive, fun, and rigorous school climate.
Our support for students goes beyond the walls of Randolph Elementary, it extends out to our sister schools in Braintree and Brookfield, as well at Randolph Union High School and Randolph Technical Career Center. We work together at the administrative level to ensure the success of our students through shared professional development, curriculum, coaching, and learning resources.
Randolph Elementary School is a “PBIS” school committed to Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. To that end, we believe that learning is not just limited to academics. We create a safe and supportive school where students also learn how to be learners; how to be members of a caring community; and how to resolve challenges with peers through positive and appropriate strategies. We directly teach behavior expectations, model what those expectations look like, and provide opportunities for practice across the entire school setting (classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, etc.). When students make behavior errors, we treat those as we would treat academic errors. We seek to understand why the student made the error, then reteach, support, and encourage until the appropriate behavior is mastered.
Our school is a community of happy learners, from kids to adults. We love our schools and are honored to serve the children and families of the Randolph, Braintree and Brookfield Elementary School communities.
We invite you to visit, get to know us, and join the fun! We suggest that you bookmark this page for quick reference. If you do not find what you need, please give us a call and we are happy to help. Further, our school Facebook page is another place for updated information, photos, and announcements. “Like” us and you will always be immediately notified with current announcements!!
Sincerely,
Melinda Robinson, Principal
